Reviving our Tradition
AZEZANA is revealing the legendary craftsmanship of Afghan silk and cashmere scarves to the modern world. Until now, this has not been possible.
For centuries, Afghanistan was known for its crafts, textiles and delicate needlework. The Herat region of Afghanistan has historically been a major center of silk production along the famous Silk Road.
Many of the men and women skilled in the traditional arts were forced to migrate or abandon their professions due to years of upheaval.
Today, AZEZANA is reviving the Afghan silk tradition by handing down craftsmanship from master to apprentice, as it has been done for generations.
